Performance Problem Analysis

With many employers utilizing remote or distributed teams, the need for managers to facilitate and promote collaboration within these teams is paramount. Although remote work is not new, it is becoming increasingly common, presenting a potential skills gap. While managers may be adept at managing on-site workers, managing workers and facilitating communication and collaboration on remote teams presents unique challenges. It is important for managers to not only understand these challenges, but to know how to counter them.

Description

This branching learning module offers three mini-modules on different topics related to managing remote workers and teams, building the team, building trust and camaraderie, and facilitating communication, which they can complete in any order they like. Learners then complete a short quiz containing multiple choice questions, some of which are scenario-based. After answering the scenario-based questions, learners are provided feedback based on their responses.

Educational Value

This training will help mangers manager and foster collaboration on their remote teams by providing information on how to select remote workers, how to communicate with them, and how to promote trust within the team. External resources are also provided, specifically regarding communication tools.
