IMA3: Instructional Video
Performance Problem Analysis
Individuals experience varying levels of stress during their lifetimes. While a certain level of stress can be beneficial, too much can lead to serious physical and psychological effects. Coping with high stress can be tricky, so it is important to close that gap by providing information about stress, it’s effects, and how to prevent said effects to those who need assistance doing so.
Description and Video
This instructional video has four objectives: to define stress, list types of stressors, examine symptoms of stress, and discuss ways to cope with stress. The video includes both factual information—about the origins and effects of stress, as well as how to cope with stress—and personal anecdotes. The content is illustrated using free stock images, video footage, and on-screen text where appropriate.
I shot footage for this video using an iPhone 6 and edited the footage, images, and audio together using iMovie. When incorporating text, I utilized PowerPoint to create slides with a consistent style and took screenshots of them to add to the video.
Educational Value
This instructional video provides useful information to individuals who are currently experiencing, or may experience at some point in time, overwhelming stress. It is important for people, first and foremost, to be able to understand and recognize the effects stress and when they are becoming too severe. Once they recognize these symptoms, the video provides information on how individuals can cope with and decrease this stress.
